Tracie Glascock is the artist behind The Cake Fairy. Her love for cake decorating and Fairies prompted her to come up with the unique name for her business. Her talent of creating cakes which amaze and delight clients have made her well sought after in Washington D.C. area circles.
She was born in Elgin Scotland and raised on the Isle of Wight off the south coast of England. Her life long interest in artwork and children blossomed into a hobby of making cakes for children's birthday parties. As more people saw the artwork she created using nothing but icing and imagination they asked her to make custom cakes for other special occasions.
Tracie's cake decorating hobby soon became a business as more people saw how unique her cakes were. The cakes she was creating were unlike anything they had ever seen. With the prompting of fellow area cake decorators and suppliers, American Cake Decorating Magazine asked Tracie to decorate a cake for their cover story of in the July/August 1998 issue. Soon Tracie was receiving requests for cakes for occasions of all types.
Tracie has since made countless cakes for special occasions including weddings, graduations, anniversaries, business events and holidays. Her sculptured designs such as the teapot cake and castle cakes have become some of the most requested cakes by her clients. Her imagination has no bounds when is comes to cakes. From her delicate 3" 1st birthday cake to her 65 lb. marine corps anniversary cake, there is no cake to large or too small.
Customers frequently reply that the cakes are too beautiful to cut into as they seem to be a piece of art not to be eaten. Once they taste the first slice of these delicious cakes they quickly change their mind. Every cake is custom decorated to the clients desires and baked fresh to ensure that they melt in your mouth every time. They are made to be every bit as pleasing to the eye as they are to the taste buds.
The Cake Fairy strives to make all of the customers happy. Painstaking attention is paid to every detail to create a cake unlike any other. Because of this, the majority of her business comes from repeat customers and new clients they refer. She believes her cakes are her best advertisement.
